Concrete Lights

Concrete has spent most of its life holding buildings up. At Abner, we wanted to see what it could do when it was asked to hold light instead. The Concrete series is the answer: a range of concrete lights for walls, pathways, steps and gardens, each one cast to sit quietly within the architecture rather than compete with it.

These are not metal fixtures painted grey to look industrial. Every piece is made from real concrete, with the small variations in tone and texture that come with the material. No two finishes are ever quite the same, and that is exactly the point.

Why Concrete Works So Well Outdoors

Most outdoor fixtures are judged in their first year. The real test comes in the fifth, after several monsoons, a few brutal summers and endless dust. Concrete has an unfair advantage here. It does not rust, it does not peel, and it does not fade the way painted finishes tend to. It ages instead. The surface softens slightly, the tone deepens, and the fixture starts to look as though it has always belonged to the building around it.

Then there is the way concrete treats light. Polished metal reflects it and glass scatters it, but concrete absorbs it. The body of the fixture stays calm and matte, so your eye goes to the glow on the wall or the ground rather than to the lamp itself. For anyone who prefers light to be felt more than seen, that restraint is worth a lot.

Concrete Wall Lights for Facades, Courtyards and Entrances

Our concrete wall lights are designed for the surfaces people notice first. Mounted along a boundary wall, they create a steady rhythm that leads visitors toward the door. On a textured facade, a gentle wash of light brings out the grain of stone cladding, exposed brick or board-formed concrete. Around a courtyard, they add a soft glow at the edges that keeps the space usable long after sunset.

Because they share a material language with modern architecture, they suit a wide range of projects: a contemporary villa in Alibaug, a farmhouse on the edge of Delhi, a boutique hotel entrance or a restaurant terrace. They look especially at home beside exposed concrete, natural stone, timber and raw plaster, where a glossy metal fitting would feel out of place.

More Than Wall Lights

The Concrete series goes well beyond the wall. The Medan concrete bollard light lines driveways and garden paths with low, steady light. The Lagos concrete step light sits on stair risers and low walls, marking each level clearly without flooding the steps. Used together, they let you light the entire journey from gate to front door in one consistent material.

How to Choose the Right Concrete Light

A few simple questions narrow the choice quickly:

  • What are you lighting? A wall surface, a path, a step and a planted bed each need a different kind of light.
  • Where should the light land? Wall lights spread light across a surface, while bollards and step lights direct it toward the ground.
  • How close will people be? Fixtures near seating or walkways should keep the light source shielded so it never shines straight into the eye.
  • What surrounds the fixture? Grey concrete tones pair beautifully with stone and timber, and the finish can soften or sharpen that contrast.

Designed In-House, Built for Indian Conditions

Every Abner fixture is developed in-house by a team of designers, engineers and artisans. The Concrete series was shaped around Indian homes, hotels and architectural spaces, where heat, humidity and heavy rain are part of everyday life rather than rare events. Materials, fixings and light sources are chosen to cope with those conditions over years, not just a single season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are concrete lights suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. The Concrete series is designed for exteriors such as facades, gardens, terraces and pathways. Check the IP rating on each product page before placing a fixture in an exposed or wet location.
