Designing with Alabaster: Light as Material
Spanish alabaster turns a fixture into an instrument for light. A look at how veining, thickness, and finish shape the glow.

Alabaster is not a surface you light — it is a material you light through. Each block carries a record of the earth in its veining, and no two pieces diffuse light the same way.
Reading the Stone
Before a single cut is made, we study the block under raking light. Thickness governs warmth; veining governs character. The craft is in matching the right slab to the right fixture.
Light is the only finish that cannot be faked.
The result is a glow that feels lit from within — soft, dimensional, and quietly alive as the day changes around it.
